Shared accommodation is no longer seen only among university students, as the cost of renting houses continues to soar across the country, it is now a popular choice of living for average Millenials, particularly those in populated cities where the cost of living is generally high, cities like Lagos, Portharcourt, Owerri and Abuja, etc.
A good number of millennials with roommates have been able to have more savings, grow a lot more, and learn a lot quicker, amidst the changing economic and social environment. Finding the ideal roommate, however, gets harder as everyone is built differently and grew up in different environments and this is a major factor in how people behave.

During my secondary research, while i was looking out for the characteristics of an average millennials as this will help me in designing a solution that best fit them.

The most pronounced characteristic of average millennials is that they are more tech-savvy and connected than the older generations, they practically do many day-to-day activities with just a few clicks on their laptops or smartphones. this leads to my assumption that most millennials find their ideal roommate through online platforms.

To understand the situation more, I spoke to a few millennials, my questions revolved around how they found their roommate, what was the challenges with finding their ideal roommate, what is the definition of an ideal roommate to them.
I interviewed five(5) millennials who are currently staying with a roommate, the interview was conducted online, participant were recruited from facebook and whatsapp.

Study already made it known that millennials are always on or connected to their smart phone, they pratically do almost everything on their smart phone. It will be very strange or unlikely to see an average millennials in a market in search of apartment essentials, which is after he or she must have found their preferred roommate.
